Luke 5:1-11
One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret,[a]
the people
were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. 2 He saw at the
water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their
nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked
him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people
from the boat.
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep
water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t
caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that
their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat
to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that
they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away
from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 9 For he and all his companions were
astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and
John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for
people.” 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and
followed him. NIV

Galatians 5:25-26, 6:1-5
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not
become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
6
1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by
the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you
also may be tempted. 2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will
fulfill the law of Christ. 3
If anyone thinks they are something when they are
not, they deceive themselves. 4 Each one should test their own actions.
Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing
themselves to someone else, 5
for each one should carry their own load.
NIV
Luke 6:12-16
12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and
spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his
disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated
apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James,
John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus,
Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas
Iscariot, who became a traitor. NIV
Luke 9:1-6
When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and
authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them
out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 He told them:
“Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no
extra shirt. 4 Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that
town. 5
If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust
off your feet as a testimony against them.” 6 So they set out and went from
village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people
everywhere. NIV
Luke 10:1-2
After this the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them two by
two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He
told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of
the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. NIV
Mark 3:13-15
13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted,
and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him
and that he might send them out to preach 15 and to have authority to drive
out demons. NIV
